Latest HIPPY New Home Visitor training graduates

In the month of February, five new Home Visitors completed a two day New Home-Based Educator Training at the state office. Two of the newly trained staff will be participating in the state of Arkansas pilot, HIPPY for caregivers. HIPPY for caregivers provides HIPPY to child care home providers including HIPPY learning materials, curriculum, school supplies, book sets, and incentives for enhancing the home-learning setting.We are proud and admire all of the hard work our HIPPY home visitors, and staff do each day to provide HIPPY in our communities.

HIPPY for Caregivers

The state of Arkansas will soon pilot HIPPY for caregivers by providing HIPPY to child care home providers.  The HIPPY learning materials will be provided to providers, the children they care for as well as their parents. This will consist of curriculum, school supplies, book sets, and incentives for enhancing the home-learning setting. Each week the childcare home provider will be visited by a HIPPY home visitor, who will train the provider on how to use the HIPPY curriculum with the children in their care. Childcare home providers will get a new book per child enrolled every few weeks and will send one copy home to each family. Providers will also get supplemental activities each week to send home to parents that will give them some suggestions for things that they can do at home to support what is being taught. The childcare home provider and the parents in the program will also be invited to HIPPY group meetings to meet other parents who are enrolled in the HIPPY program.

Arkansas Home Visiting Network (AHVN)

In November, the Arkansas Home Visiting Network (AHVN) held its annual home visiting conference. HIPPY Home Visitors and Coordinators were recognized for their years of service. We are proud of our HIPPY staff and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and longevity they provide to the families in Arkansas.
